On this day... in History

This section of the website is designed around local history. Those of us who interpret history can always use more readily available information.

I have based this section on some of the characters and places I go frequently. I often portray Lucy Clark Croghan at Historic Locust Grove, in Louisville, KY. Interacting with visitors on a first person level can be challenging. Referring to the lists below can be a quick study tool - knowing information about some of my famous siblings, birthdays, deaths and important dates in family life makes for a most believable portrayal.

Turning back the clock for visitors not only means dressing in the manner of the times but being able to converse about the days events too. Knowing what was happening on a state and local level and in our nation’s early days and being able to talk about it adds an extra special touch to a first person interpretation. So check below and enjoy what happened “on this day in history.”
