Characters

Some of my stories are told as first person accounts of historical figures. At these times I dress as the character. Some of my characters are:

Grandma Betsy - Grandma Betsy is actually patterned after my ancestor who was captured by the Cherokee Indians at the age of 4 and rescued when she was 14. She helped influence the writing of the Indiana State Constitution and married one of the founders of the State.

Lucy Clark Croghan - Sister to George Rogers Clark and William Clark. And wife of William Croghan. Together they built their home at Locust Grove near Louisville, Kentucky in 1790.

Pauline Cushman - A Union Army spy caught and condemned to be hung, only to escape this fate.

Abigail Adams - wife of President John Adams and mother of President John Quincy Adams.

Like storytelling - first person historical interpretation is an art. Read Mandy’s thoughts on presenting a good first person performance.
